A 20 year old man will appear in the Albany Magistrates Court today (17 February 2016) as a result of inquiries by Albany and Mandurah Detectives.

An investigation by Mandurah Detectives in relation to a number of burglaries in the Greenfields area between 7 to 13 February 2016, lead to Albany Detectives executing a search warrant on a home in Ocean Beach yesterday (16 February 2016).

It will be alleged that during the search police located and seized drug paraphernalia and property believed to have been unlawfully obtained.

Inquiries are continuing.

The 20 year old Coodanup man has been charged with Aggravated Burglary; Stealing; Trespass and Possess Drug Paraphernalia.

Albany Detectives Have Charged A 36 Year Old Man From Albany In Relation To Two Robbery Offences

Albany Detectives have charged a 36 year old man from Albany in relation to two robbery offences. It is alleged the offences took place in Albany on Saturday 2 January 2016. The man was charged with one count each of Attempted Robbery, Armed Robbery, Attempted Fraud, and two counts of Aggravated Burglary With Intent. He will be appearing in Albany Magistrates’ Court on Friday 12 February 2016.

Albany Detectives would like to thank members of the community for their assistance during this investigation.

– Many Peaks Suspicious Bush Fire
Albany detectives are seeking information regarding a bush fire in Many Peaks which started about 10:00pm last night, Friday 1 January 2016.

The fire started at the Normans Beach Campsite and is believed to have spread as far as the Betty’s Beach Campsite.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) have extinguished the fire.

Police are seeking information from occupants of two vehicles camped at the Normans Beach Campsite.

One vehicle is described as a new looking black Holden Commodore Utility which was towing a partially caged trailer. The vehicle occupants are described as being a man and woman in their mid 20’s. Also travelling with them was a tall skinny black dog.

The second vehicle is described as a white coloured Toyota Hilux Utility Dual Cab possibly late 1990’s early 2000’s V6 petrol. This vehicle may have “P” plates attached. The vehicle occupants are described as being a man and woman aged in their mid 20’s.
Both vehicles are believed to have Victorian registration plates and have been travelling in company with one another
Police are also interested in identifying a woman in her early 20’s with dark hair with distinctive blonde tips seen with the two vehicles.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen these vehicles or persons described.

Albany Detectives Are Seeking Information Regarding Two Armed Robberies Committed Saturday 2 January…

Albany detectives are seeking information regarding two armed robberies committed Saturday 2 January 2016 in Albany.

About 9:40am, a male person entered a pharmacy on York Street and swung a canvas bag at a staff member and demanded prescription medication. The person also tried to access
the safe, however, was unsuccessful and he left empty handed.

About 11:50am, a male person entered a pharmacy on Albany Highway and approached a staff member and made demands for prescription medication be handed over. He intimated
he had a handgun in his pocket at the time. The staff member complied with his demands and left the store with a large amount of medication.

He was last seen running towards the rear of a Bank on the corner of Albany Highway and York Street.

Police have released an image from the CCTV footage of a person who they believe can assist them with their investigation.

In the first Attempted Robbery the male person was wearing a white hooded jumper, dark blue jeans and was carrying a blue canvas bag.

In the second incident the male person was wearing a light grey coloured checked hooded jumper and dark blue jeans. He was carrying a green canvas bag, similar to a re-useable
shopping bag.

Due to the timings of both robberies and similar descriptions this is being investigatednwhether the two incidents are linked.

Albany detectives are seeking information regarding a bush fire in Many Peaks which started about 10:00pm last night, Friday 1 January 2016.

The fire started at the Normans Beach Campsite and is believed to have spread as far as the Betty’s Beach Campsite.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) are still managing this fire and members of the public are asked to avoid the area where possible. Full details can be obtained on the DFES website http://www.dfes.wa.gov.au

Police are seeking information from occupants of two vehicles camped at the Normans Beach Campsite.

One vehicle is described as a 2012/2013 white FJ Cruiser with roof racks, bull bar, a spare tyre on the back with a full black cover and a side awning on the left side. The occupants of this vehicle are believed to be a man and woman in their mid-20’s with a four or five month old Husky dog.

The second vehicle is described as a dark silver/grey coloured 4WD utility (possibly a Toyota Landcruiser or Nissan Patrol) with two occupants.

Detectives believe these two vehicles are travelling together and the occupants of both may be able to assist with their inquiries.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen these vehicles or persons described.
