On Thursday evening, 10 March, Broome police conducted a targeted action relating to anti-social behaviour, drugs and crime, within the Broome sub-district.
Police conducted proactive foot and vehicle patrols with the following results;
6 x Cartons of beer located secreted around male oval and destroyed
106 x cans of beer located at male oval, Anne Street and other locations, destroyed
15 x Bottles of Wine located and destroyed
1 x Bottle of Spirits destroyed
6 x Move on notices issued as a result of disorderly behaviour
35 x vehicles stopped and searched
1 x Positive Drug Test (Methamphetamine)
6 x Speeding offences, 2 x Compliance notices

Broome Police and Kimberley Liquor Enforcement Unit have charged a 20 year old male with a sly-grogging offence, after a vehicle stop yesterday in Broome.
After information was received from the community, police intercepted the vehicle, which was carrying liquor about for the purpose of sale to people in a Kimberley community.
Please continue to contact police if you’re aware of sly-grogging or have any information to assist in the control of the illegal sale of alcohol in the Kimberley.
Broome Detectives would like to thank the community for their assistance, after information flooded in about suspicious activity in a Broome street recently.
Inquiries were conducted, leading to the execution of a search warrant yesterday where a quantity of Methyl amphetamines and drug paraphernalia were located.
Detectives also located a quantity of high quality Pearls, believed to have been stolen from a recent burglary in Broome.
A 26 year old Broome man has been charged and will appear in Broome Magistrates Court today.

In Broome overnight, an offender broke into six vehicles throughout the Roebuck estate and numerous personal items and cash stolen.
After calls from the community, into the suspicious behaviour of the offender, police located him shortly after and the stolen property was recovered.
The offender was refused bail and will appear at Broome Magistrates Court.
Please continue to lock up houses and vehicles and call police about any suspicious behaviour.

In response to intelligence and information received from the Broome community, into the illegal sale and supply of drugs in Broome, the Broome Police Station and Detectives Office identified several targets for search warrants.
Over a 24 hour period four search warrants were executed in Broome, with a quantity of Cannabis and drug paraphernalia being seized and four persons charged.
Please continue to report any suspected drug activity or suspicious behaviour to police.
Broome Police have conducted a review of burglaries and motor vehicle thefts over the past month, we have found that over 50% involved unlocked homes and vehicles. Broome Police are calling for witnesses to an attempted robbery which occurred on Napier Terrace outside the Aboriginal Legal Service on the 11th of November at approximately 7:30pm. A male person approached the victim, who was sitting in his vehicle and demanded money before assaulting the victim. The male is described as being dark skinned, 160 – 170cm tall with a thick moustache, curly black hair and a ‘pot belly’.
