#canyouhelp? – Bunbury Jetty Incident Wednesday 6 January 2016
South West Detectives are seeking information from the public in relation to an incident which occurred at the Bunbury Jetty yesterday afternoon.
About 1:15pm, a Sea-Ray 185 marine vessel was towing two ski-tubes, commonly known as ski biscuits, in the water ski area. These ski biscuits were carrying a young girl and a young boy, both 15 years of age.
On approach to the Jetty the ski biscuits collided with another vessel which was tied up at the time with no occupants on board.
St John Ambulance officers attended to both the girl and boy at the scene. They were both taken to Bunbury Regional Hospital for treatment. The boy suffered minor injuries. The girl received serious injuries and was later flown to Perth by Royal Flying Doctor Service for further treatment. She is in a serious but stable condition.
At the time of the incident there was a number of people in the adjacent businesses close to the Jetty who may be able to assist with the investigation.
