Have You Noticed Scooters Coming & Going At A House Near You? Please, Read On..

Good Evening,
Team 3 in the seat for our first night shift of the week.
“SCOOTER WATCH”
Canning Vale Police are working hard to keep the local community safe. In recent weeks we have noticed bad guys getting around on scooters in order to commit crime.
This trend is nothing new – scooters allow offenders mobility, a quick hassle-free getaway and the ability to use walkways and footpaths, especially between adjoining streets or roads.
Often these people won’t wear protective gear either, and so risk seriously injuring themselves when riding in a reckless manner.
We are appealing to the public in the Canning Vale and Thornlie suburbs to report any information you may have in regards to offenders using scooters to commit crime in our area.
If you have information about any of the following, we want to know about it:
– Scooters coming and going from houses at all times of the day and night
– Scooters suddenly becoming a problem (noise, reckless driving etc) at a house near you
– People, particularly juveniles, congregating in areas with scooters
– Scooter riders who don’t wear protective clothing or gear (helmets etc)
If you know something, say something!
Call 131 444 to report an incident or request police attendance.
Call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 to provide information, anonymously if you like.
With your help we can make a difference.

Easter Sunday Search Warrants

Team 3 again…. must be a sugar rush, from all the Easter Eggs, but here’s an update from what your Canning Vale LPT have been up to today…
Canning Vale Police have been working hard to combat a spike in burglary and stealing offences in the local area over the past couple of weeks.
Police have been out in force stopping cars, talking to suspicious people, gathering intelligence, executing search warrants and arresting offenders.
The photos attached, taken early Easter Sunday morning, show officers on their way to execute a search warrant relating to a stealing offence with the assistance of Police Dog Mako.
In all, Easter Sunday saw us execute a total of four consecutive searches with several offenders arrested and remanded in custody for a variety of offences.
We’re working hard to get the bad guys, but we’re not done and if you can help us out call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or Canning Vale Police on 9456 9555.
Happy Easter everybody!

Team 4 South East Metro District Control Centre

Good morning,

Pet owners and home owners in the Parkwood area please be aware.

At 0900 am this morning a homeowner residing in the vicinity of Mayo Court and Meadowbrook Drive noticed a suspicious, unknown male person hanging over a neighbours boundary fence. The male person was riding a black mountain bike and is described as dark skinned, about 40 years of age wearing glasses. His clothing is described as grey track pants with a multicoloured jacket. The homeowner questioned the male about why he was hanging over the fence, at which point the male person promptly rode away, whilst riding away the male person threw a number of items to the ground, upon closer inspection these items were discovered to be meat packages wrapped in stocking with an unknown powdery substance visible.

It may be that these meat packages were to be used to poison dogs for the purpose of committing a burglary in and around this area.

This matter has been referred to Canning Vale Police for further inquiry.

Suspicious behaviour / persons / vehicles can be reported to the Police Assistance centre on 131444

Just an update in relation to a Burglary that happened back on the 13th January in Canning Vale where some war medals were stolen, whilst these medals probably don’t hold a great monetary value they do hold great sentimental value to the holder.

The good news is that on the 31st Police stopped a vehicle and during the subsequent search the stolen medals were located and have now been returned to their rightful owner with the unlawful custodians spending some quality time with the local constabulary.

Team 2 Again

Team 2 again.

Heads Up time if you live in the vicinity of Wilfred Road, Canning Vale – we recently had 2 fair skinned males going door to door purporting to be required to undertake maintenance to power poles involving grinders and cutters – they are asking for peoples car keys so they can move their cars out of the way of danger from being damaged by the grinding metal bits .

They are not wearing any kind of uniform and were very quick to take off when challenged by a householder to prove who they were..

One of them was wearing a blue T Shirt and Shorts, well built with sunglasses on and is about 40-50 years old. The second person was also a male but there is no further description. second youth was wearing.

Don’t be sucker punched people – even as you read this you know its a lame excuse to get your keys – easiest way top steal a car these days is with the keys..

Any further incidents of this type, 131444 and let us know.
