Kensington Police Catch Thief Red Handed

Team 2 again – more arrests in the SEMD in an ongoing operation targeting volume crime offenders. Part of the team focussed on our prolific and priority offenders (PPO) were conducting targeted patrols in South Perth as part of an intelligence focussed patrol plan. They noticed a car that was known to belong to a PPO in a rear car park in Heppingstone Street.
While giving the car the quick once over our well-known local returned to the car and it was subsequently searched. The boot area contained two shopping bags of cosmetics and miscellaneous electrical items – all still in the original packaging and in far greater quantities than people would normally purchase. All the items seem to be from Priceline and BCF stores.
Our alleged offender was arrested on suspicion of stealing and a process was followed that resulted in searching her home address in Karawara. That did not result in any more evidence being located.
Next stop was Kensington Police Station where inquiries were made and the alleged offender was charged with possession of stolen property. Because she was already on conditional bail at the time of these offences but still kept on offending, her bail was refused because of the high risk of continued offending behaviour.
When she was advised of this she was less than impressed and bit the police officer who was taking identification particulars off her. Police was quick in reacting to her sudden effort to bite and pulled her away before she could penetrate the skin.
She was further charged with Assaulting a Police Officer.
You’d think a 35 year old would know better – she has a night in the Perth Watch House to reflect on her poor decision making – not sure that’s going to be long enough!
