Driver Charged Over Merriwa Death

Major Crash investigators have arrested and charged a male driver in relation to an incident in Dunmore Circuit Merriwa on Friday 8 April 2016 at 5.10pm which resulted in the death of a 22 month old child.

The driver involved in the incident, a 30 year old male from Yanchep, has been charged with Stealing a Motor Vehicle, Driving Without a Drivers Licence, and Failing to Report an Incident Occasioning Bodily Harm to Police.

He has been refused bail and will appear in Northbridge Magistrates Court Sunday 10 April 2016.

73 Year Old Male Charged After Fatal Halls Head Collision

Major Crash investigators have charged a man in relation to a fatal crash in Halls Head on Tuesday, 29 March 2016.
About 9:45am, a silver coloured Ford Falcon station wagon collided with a cyclist at the intersection of Old Coast Rd and McLarty Road in Halls Head. It will be alleged the driver of the Ford failed to stop at the scene of the crash.
The cyclist, a 69 year old woman from Halls Head, suffered critical injuries and was conveyed by ambulance to the Peel Health Campus where she died from her injuries.
The driver of the Ford, a 73 year old man from Erskine has been charged with Fail to Ensure Assistance Given After a Traffic Incident (Bodily Harm or Death) and Fail to Report an Incident Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm or Death.
He is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on 26 April 2016.

Major Crash Investigators are seeking assistance from the public regarding a fatal crash that occurred in Halls Head this morning, Tuesday 29 March 2016.
Just before 10.00am a female cyclist was hit by a vehicle on Old Coast Road and received fatal injuries.
The vehicle involved in the incident left the scene.
It is believed the vehicle involved is an early 90’s model silver Ford station wagon with damage to the front left-hand side.
The vehicle was last seen heading in a northerly direction on Old Coast Road in Mandurah (heading towards the city centre).

Major Crash Investigators are seeking information regarding a serious hit and run crash in Spearwood yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 16 March 2016.

About 5:00pm a Vmoto scooter was travelling east on Angus Avenue, Spearwood. At the same time a silver SUV/wagon style vehicle was travelling south on Denham Street. The vehicles collided at the intersection of the two roads.

The rider of the scooter, a man in his sixties, received serious injuries as a result of the crash. Local residents assisted by providing emergency first aid and he was then transported to Fiona Stanley Hospital.

The driver of the silver SUV/wagon style vehicle failed to stop at the scene of the crash.

Bowes Fatal Crash

Major Crash investigators are renewing their appeal for public information following a fatal crash that occurred in Bowes on Wednesday 27 January 2016. Between 1:30am and 5:00am, a grey Holden Commodore sedan was travelling in a northerly direction on North West Coastal Highway, Bowes (10km south of Northampton), when it left the road and rolled over, coming to rest on a riverbank south of the Bowes River Bridge. The front seat passenger of the Holden, a 27 year old man from Bull Creek, died at the scene. The driver of the Holden, a 20 year old woman from Sunset Beach, received serious injuries and was conveyed to Hospital. Kondinin Fatal Crash Charges

Major Crash investigators have charged a 19 year old female German national with Careless Driving following a fatal crash which occurred in Kondinin on Sunday 6 March 2016. It will be alleged the woman was driving east along Corrigin-Kondinin Road at about 11.30am when the vehicle left the carriageway and rolled a number of times before coming to rest in nearby bushland. As a result of the crash the 20 year old female German national passenger received fatal injuries. The 19 year old woman is due to appear in the Narrogin Magistrates Courts on Tuesday 15 March 2016.

Mahomets Flats Serious Crash

Major Crash officers are investigating a serious crash which occurred at the intersection of Brand Highway and Broadhead Avenue in Mahomets Flats (Geraldton) on Wednesday 2 March 2016. About 12pm, a green coloured Ford LTD sedan travelling east on Broadhead Avenue collided with a red coloured Honda motorcycle which was travelling north on Brand Highway. The driver of the Honda motorcycle, a 47 year old man from Wandina, suffered serious injuries and was conveyed to the Geraldton Hospital before being airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital. The 55 year old male driver of the Ford LTD, also from Wandina and his passengers were not injured in the crash. Major Crash Officers are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred east of Lake King.

Police were called at approximately 7:15am on Saturday, 20 February 2016 by a member of the public who had discovered a single vehicle crash on Lake King-Norseman Road.

It is believed that earlier in the night a white Toyota Hilux utility was travelling along the unsealed road when it rolled. Three men were located deceased at the scene, two 24 year old men from New Zealand, and a 25 year old man from New Zealand.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is continuing.

Major Crash investigators are seeking further information in relation to a dark coloured sedan which was travelling in the Bibra Lake area at the time.

At around 11:45pm last Wednesday 10 February 2016, police attempted to stop a motor cycle near the intersection of Phoenix Drive and North Lake Road. The rider failed to stop and accelerated away from police who located the motor cycler rider crashed a short time later.

Around the same time, a dark coloured sedan was travelling south along North Lake Road and then turned right into Phoenix Drive just after the motor cycle crashed.

Police officers provided first aid to the rider until St John Ambulance officers arrived on scene.

The rider, a 34 year old man from North Perth was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment, who later died.

Major Crash officers are investigating a serious crash which occurred at the intersection of Scarborough Beach Road and Harborne Street in Osborne Park on Sunday 7 February 2016.

About 12:25pm, a white coloured Toyota Corolla travelling north on Harborne Street collided with a white coloured Toyota Corolla hatchback travelling south.

The driver of the hatchback, a 30 year old man from Balcatta, was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The driver of the sedan, a 31 year old man from Glendalough, was treated for minor injuries at the scene. A six year old girl, a passenger in the sedan received life threatening injuries and was taken by St. John ambulance to Princess Margaret Hospital for medical treatment.

Major Crash Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance for information to assist with their investigation into a serious crash in Wilbinga yesterday afternoon, Saturday 6 February 2016.

At about 1:43pm, a green Holden Commodore wagon travelling north on Indian Ocean Drive (approximately one kilometre south of the Coppino Lake turn off) collided head on with a black Jeep wagon travelling south.

The driver of the Commodore, a 35 year old man suffered serious injuries. Also in the vehicle was another man and two women (all adults). All four persons were taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment. The driver, the two women and one man were later taken to Joondalup Health Campus. The man was later released.

The driver of the Jeep, a 56 year old man from Attadale received life threatening injuries and was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

Major Crash Investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw either the green Holden Commodore wagon or the black Jeep wagon prior to the crash.

On Saturday 30 January 2016 at about 2pm, a white Holden Rodeo utility travelling east and a white Ford Courier utility travelling west, collided on the Bridgetown-Boyup Brook Road.

The 63 year old male driver of the Holden Rodeo and his 64 year old male passenger received serious injuries.

A 28 year old man of Craigie has died after the Holden sedan he was driving left Wanneroo road in Nowergup at around 9.15pm last night (29 January).
The vehicle was driving north along Wanneroo Road (near the intersection of Hester Road), when it left the road and rolled.
The man died at the scene of the crash.
The only passenger in the vehicle, a 39 year old man, received minor injuries.
Major Crash officers will investigate the cause of the crash.

Major Crash officers investigating a fatal crash which occurred about 6:30pm on Friday 8 January 2016 in Landsdale, have charged a 35 year old man.

It will be alleged white Hyundai Excel was travelling north on Mirrabooka Avenue near Southmead Drive, when it was struck head on by a white Nissan Pulsar approaching from the opposite direction.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 27 year old woman, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

On Sunday 10 January 2016, as a result of their investigation, Major Crash Investigators charged a 35 year old man (the driver of the Nissan) with Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death and Excess 0.08%.

He is due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court on 25 January 2016.

Major Crash Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance for information to assist with their ongoing investigation into a serious crash in Yanchep on Monday 20 July 2015.

In the early hours of the morning (around 4:30am), a silver coloured Holden Commodore station wagon was travelling south on Indian Ocean Drive when it left the road and collided with a tree approximately 2kms north of Breakwater Drive in Yanchep.

The male driver was not injured in the crash but a 13 year old girl who was the front seat passenger, received serious injuries.

Major Crash Investigators would like to speak with a man who stopped to assist at the crash. He spoke to the driver and the girl before leaving the scene. He may have been wearing fluoro coloured clothing.
