73 Year Old Male Charged After Fatal Halls Head Collision

Major Crash investigators have charged a man in relation to a fatal crash in Halls Head on Tuesday, 29 March 2016.
About 9:45am, a silver coloured Ford Falcon station wagon collided with a cyclist at the intersection of Old Coast Rd and McLarty Road in Halls Head. It will be alleged the driver of the Ford failed to stop at the scene of the crash.
The cyclist, a 69 year old woman from Halls Head, suffered critical injuries and was conveyed by ambulance to the Peel Health Campus where she died from her injuries.
The driver of the Ford, a 73 year old man from Erskine has been charged with Fail to Ensure Assistance Given After a Traffic Incident (Bodily Harm or Death) and Fail to Report an Incident Occasioning Grievous Bodily Harm or Death.
He is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on 26 April 2016.

Halls Head Road Rage Incident Can You Help With Any Information?

Police are seeking witnesses to an incident in which a 16 and 17 year old boy were injured after being thrown from their moped.
Around 5.10pm on 21 March 2016, the two were riding along Pinjarra Road in Mandurah when they were involved in a verbal altercation with the two occupants of a white four wheel drive.
The altercation continued onto Mary Street in Halls Head. At the intersection of Finistere Island Retreat, the driver of the four wheel drive pulled alongside the moped.
The passenger of the 4WD then leant out of the vehicle and grabbed hold of the 17 year old pillion passenger, pulling him towards the four wheel drive.
The rider of the moped lost control, causing it to crash and throwing both the rider and passenger onto the road in front of oncoming traffic.
The four wheel drive failed to stop and drove away from the scene.
Both boys received abrasions to their arms, legs and hands.
Both occupants of the four wheel drive are described as being in their early 20s, with olive complexions and of a solid build.

Welfare Concerns – Colin LYONS

Mandurah Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 58 year old Colin Reginald LYONS. Mr LYONS was last seen in Halls Head around 11am this morning and is driving a blue coloured Toyota Landcruiser, registration number 1BHI281. He is described as being fair skinned, approximately 175cms tall with a slim build, grey short hair and a grey beard and moustache. Mr Lyons was last seen wearing a white collared short sleeve shirt and dark coloured shorts. Police have concerns for his welfare and anyone who sees Mr LYONS, or knows of his whereabouts is asked to call police immediately on 131 444.

Silver Sands Incident

At approximately 12:30am this morning (8 March 2016) Police attended the Peel Health Campus for a 27 year old man who presented with an injury to his leg. The injury is believed to be consistent with a gunshot wound. His condition is stable but not life threatening. Mandurah Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and have identified that the incident occurred near Hickman Road, Silver Sands. Mandurah Detectives are currently investigating an incident where a man was wounded in his house in Wannanup.

At approximately 6am on Saturday the man woke when he heard noises inside his house. He was confronted by two people with their faces covered who hit the victim with a wooden pole.

He was conveyed by St Johns Ambulance to Peel Health Campus with a laceration to the head and arm injuries.

A 22 year old man from Mandurah has been charged with two counts of ‘Obscene acts in public’ after an incident in Greenfields yesterday, Tuesday 16 February 2016.

It will be alleged police were called to Irrawadi Drive (near the vicinity of a primary school) about 2.00pm regarding reports of a man conducting obscene acts in the area. Police attended and located a man on Waldron Boulevard matching the description members of the public had provided of the offender.

The man is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday 23 February 2016.

A 20 year old man will appear in the Albany Magistrates Court today (17 February 2016) as a result of inquiries by Albany and Mandurah Detectives.

An investigation by Mandurah Detectives in relation to a number of burglaries in the Greenfields area between 7 to 13 February 2016, lead to Albany Detectives executing a search warrant on a home in Ocean Beach yesterday (16 February 2016).

It will be alleged that during the search police located and seized drug paraphernalia and property believed to have been unlawfully obtained.

Inquiries are continuing.

The 20 year old Coodanup man has been charged with Aggravated Burglary; Stealing; Trespass and Possess Drug Paraphernalia.

Search Warrant, Mandurah Mundijong Police And Officers From Mandurah Local Policing Team Executed…

Search Warrant, Mandurah

Mundijong Police and officers from Mandurah Local Policing Team executed a Search Warrant at an address on Eacott Street, Mandurah yesterday (Tuesday 16 February 2016) and charged a 34 year old man.

At 5:10pm, the warrant was executed in response to numerous stealing offences reported across the South East and South Metropolitan Districts of metal plaques from public information areas, War Memorial sites, Cemeteries and Cremation Memorial Parks. Recently a quantity of plaques were stolen from the Byford Memorial Park.

It will be alleged during the search warrant police located a quantity of metal plaques, which included War Memorial and National Servicemen plaques. Other items from the property were also located and seized, this included two living ‘Long Neck’ Turtles, a small amount of Methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The two turtles were taken to an animal rescue centre.

The 34 year old man from Mandurah has been charged with one count each Possess Prohibited Drug (Methylamphetamine), Possess Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property. He has been bailed to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday 11 March 2016.

The investigation is ongoing in relation to the possession of protected wildlife and other items seized from the property.

On Thursday 11 February 2016, a speed detection camera was set up on Mandurah Road, Madora Bay close to Catalina Drive monitoring traffic in a north bound lane.
It will be alleged around 8:10pm, a Toyota utility was captured travelling at 157km/h in a 80km/h zone.
A few minutes later the vehicle returned and intentionally drove over the speed detection camera, smashing it. The estimated cost of the damage is $97,000.
Traffic Enforcement Group 2 officers along with Mandurah Detectives conducted inquiries and apprehended a 29 year old Mandurah man.
He has been charged with Criminal Damage and Reckless Driving (exceed speed limit by 45km/h or more).
He is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on 23 February 2016.
His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Grievous Bodily Harm Incident – Man Charged

Mandurah Detectives have charged a man after an incident in Halls Head yesterday afternoon, Saturday 6 February 2016.

At 1:00pm, a man drove his Harley Davidson motor cycle into the drive through area of a bottle shop located on Guava Way.

It will be alleged a 35 year old man driving a silver Holden Commodore sedan drove at the man on the motor cycle and pinned him to a wall. He reversed and repeated this action on two more occasions then fled the area, not stopping to render assistance.

Emergency services were called to the scene, where a 31 year old man from Chidlow had suffered serious injuries to his lower limbs. He was taken to Peel Health Campus and later to Fiona Stanley Hospital for medical treatment.

A short time later Detectives attended a residence and arrested the 35 year old man.

He has been charged with one count of With Intent To Do Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) does GBH to Another. He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Sunday 7 February 2016.

Mandurah LPT officers had a great result overnight arresting an armed offender.

Just after 8.30pm a liquor store on Sholl Street in Mandurah reported to police a man armed with a large knife had entered the store and after threatening staff left with a bottle of alcohol.

A description of the man was circulated and a short time later officers conducting patrols of the Mandurah CBD located a man matching the description in a car park on Pinjarra Road and Leslie Street.

It is alleged during a search of the man, officers located property which had been stolen from the liquor store and a large knife.

A 49 year old man of no fixed abode has been charged with Armed Robbery. He faced the Perth Magistrates Court today.

Mandurah Police are seeking information in relation to a Burglary which occurred at a rental apartment at Quest Apartments Mandurah last Sunday, 17 January 2016.

Between 11.00pm and 7.00am someone has smashed a glass sliding door to gain access and have stolen the victim’s handbag from a table.

Valuable jewellery was in the stolen purse including the ring pictured (gold in actual colour).

The victims had been evacuated from their house in Harvey during the recent fires and were staying at the apartments temporarily, hence the jewellery being stored in her handbag.

Mandurah Careless Driving and Criminal Damage Charges – Mandurah Police have charged a man in relation to an incident in Mandurah on Tuesday 12 January 2016 in which a vehicle was damaged.

About 12:40pm the occupants of a four wheel drive vehicle were travelling north on Old Cost Road / Mandurah Road. At the intersection of Leslie Street and Mandurah Road it will be alleged the occupant of a black Suzuki Swift hatch exited his vehicle and approached the victim’s vehicle in an aggressive manner. It will be further alleged the man struck the victim’s vehicle a number of times, causing damage to the vehicle.

Vision of the incident was provided to WA Police and a person of interest was identified. This person was arrested yesterday, Friday 22 January 2016.

A 23 year old man has been charged with No Authority to Drive, Careless Driving, and Criminal Damage. He is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday 9 February 2016.
