Midland detectives are seeking the public’s assistance following an incident at a fast food restaurant in Midvale on Saturday 10 April 2016.

About 5.20pm a man entered the store on Great Eastern Highway and spoke to staff, during which another customer entered the store. The man waited near the cash register and when the staff member opened the till the man leaned over the counter and grabbed a handful of cash. Staff and the customer attempted to intervene however the man left the store with a quantity of cash.

He was last seen running across Great Eastern Highway towards Bellevue.

Police have released CCTV images of a male who they believe can assist them with their inquiries into this incident.

The male is described as:
– Fair skinned
– Approximately 180cms tall
– 28-30 years old
– Medium build
– Unshaven
– Short brown hair
– Tattoo on the left side of his neck and forearm
– Crooked teeth
– Wearing a grey hooded jacket with a dark motif on the front, black shorts and thongs.

$35,000 Worth Of Bicycles Recovered In Hamersley

$35,000 worth of bicycles recovered in Hamersley.

Six exotic mountain bikes were stolen during a burglary that occurred between Monday 29 February 2016 and Tuesday 1 March 2016 at a Maylands bicycle shop, located on Guildford Road.

The mountain bikes included three Norco and three Giant brands valued up to $8000 each.

Midland Detectives initiated an investigation into the burglary and similar offences that were reported to police between 27 February 2016 and 1 March 2016.

On Tuesday night, 8 March 2016, Midland Detectives recovered two Norco and two Giant mountain bikes and cycling accessories to the value of $35,000 from a Hamersley address.

Having your bicycle stolen regardless of its monetary value is frustrating to say the least. You can consider engraving your bike, placing your WA Drivers licence number on paper in piping under the seat and when locking with a chain ensure it’s snaked through the frame as well as the wheels.

Midland Detectives executed a search warrant at a Ballajura residence yesterday (Thursday 25 February 2016) afternoon and charged a man and a woman with drug related offences.

At about 3:25pm, it will be alleged during the search of a residence on Hamelin Drive officers located and seized approximately 1.0kg of freshly harvested Cannabis leaf and bud material, approximately 500grams of Cannabis leaf (drying), hydroponic equipment and other drug paraphernalia.
A 48 year old woman from Ballajura and a 41 year old man from Lower Chittering were arrested from the residence.
The woman has been charged with one count each of Cultivate a Prohibited Plant, Possess Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Prohibited Drugs with Intent to Sell or Supply. She was bailed to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court on Friday 18 March 2016.
The man has been charged with one count each of Possession of Prohibited Drugs with Intent to Sell or Supply and Cultivate Prohibited Plant. He was bailed to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court on Friday 18 March 2016.

#TougherForCrooks – Att. Aggravated Burglary with Intent, Steal Motor Vehicle, Criminal Damage by Fire, Middle Swan – one man arrested…….

Midland Detectives are investigating an incident which occurred at a bottle shop early this morning (Thursday 18 February 2016) in Middle Swan.

Just after midnight, police were called to Dance Drive for reports of a silver Kia Sportage acting suspiciously in a nearby carpark.

It will be alleged the Kia Sportage drove at the front roller doors of the bottle shop and became impaled on the bollards. The driver attempted to reverse the vehicle several times. The vehicle was unable to be freed and was set alight.

The vehicle was engulfed in flames which spread to the shop front. Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called and extinguished the fire.

Three men ran from the scene and one of the men was arrested nearby.

A 25 year old man from Lockridge has been charged with one count each of Attempted Aggravated Burglary with intent, Criminal damage by fire, Steal Motor Vehicle. He is due to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court this morning, Thursday 18 February 2016.

Police are seeking information in relation to the other two men. One is described as being dark skinned, heavy build, approximately 25 years of age. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black baseball cap and black shorts. The other man is described as being dark skinned, medium build, approximately 25 years of age. He was wearing a red t-shirt with a white stripe to the side, black shorts and black shoes.

#TougherForCrooks UPDATE: In November there was a Crime Stoppers post in relation to an incident in Midland on 24 October 2015.

It will be alleged that the man attempted to grab a woman’s handbag as she was walking along the Crescent Midland at 9.20pm. The woman kept hold of her handbag as she fell to the ground. Whilst on the ground the man allegedly assaulted the woman before leaving without the bag.

As a result of an investigation by Midland Detectives, a 25 year old man of no fixed address has been charged with one count of Assault with Intent to Rob.

Midland Detectives are seeking information regarding a burglary and robbery incident in Bullsbrook early this morning, Thursday 11 February 2016.

About 5.50am an offender gained entry via the front entrance to the IGA Shopping Centre on Great Northern Highway.

At the time, the manager was inside the store preparing for the business day. The offender was inside the store for approximately 10 minutes, sneaking and hiding in various areas around the store trying to prevent being detected. The offender located a bag and attempted to leave the store.

The owner who was working out the back of the store sighted the offender on his CCTV system and approached him. The offender threw various grocery items and picked up a metal shelving panel, threatening the manager before leaving the store through the rear door.

The offender is described as male, dark skinned, slim build and 20 to 25 years of age. He was wearing a dark coloured hooded jumper with motif on the front, black shorts and white anklet socks.

Midland Detectives Proactive Team executed a search warrant on a home in Success and Aubin Grove yesterday (9 February 2016) as a result of their inquiries into a burglary in Ballajura which occurred between Christmas and New Year.

Items located and seized during the searches has resulted in two Aubin Grove people being arrested.

A 50 year old man has been charged with five counts of Fraud and one count each of Burglary, Stealing and Steal Motor Vehicle.

A 19 year old woman has been charged with five counts of Fraud.

They are due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on 8 March 2016.

PD Slam Assists with Arrest

Midland Detectives have charged two men and a woman after they attempted to evade police in Hazelmere last night, Thursday 4 February 2016.

About 10.00pm officers observed a Ford Mondeo driving erratically on Reid Highway heading East from Beechboro Road and attempted to stop the vehicle on Lord Street in Brabham, however it is alleged to driver failed to stop for police.

It will be further alleged the vehicle continued to evade police through several suburbs, at times driving on the wrong side of the road and in excess of the speed limit.

On Roe Highway, near the Great Eastern Highway bypass, a tyre on the vehicle blowout and the vehicle caught on fire. Polair 62 identified all four occupants running from the vehicle into adjacent bushland and directed officers to arrest two of the offenders.

PD Slam and his handler arrived in the area and was directed by Polair to the location of the third offender, who was detained by PD Slam on the thigh.

PD Slam and his handler continued to search for the fourth offender, who was located hiding in thick scrub. The offender attempted to resist arrest by kicking PD Slam in the head but was successfully detained on the leg.

Both offenders who received dog bites were conveyed to hospital for medical treatment.

PD Slam was not injured in the arrest.

A 22 year old man from Forrestfield has been charged with:
– Breach of Bail Undertaking
– No authority to drive
– Driver of a vehicle failed to stop
– Reckless Driving

A 22 year old woman from Gosnells has been charged with:
– Breach of Bail
– Possess a Prohibited Drug

A 24 year old man from Midvale has been charged with:
– Obstructing public officers

All are due to appear in the Midland Magistrates Court today.

Inquiries still continuing regarding the fourth offender.

Midland Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to an incident that occurred in Midland on Wednesday 13 January 2016.

About 5.15pm two men confronted a woman outside a property on George Street. One of the men attempted to take her car keys and a mobile phone before grabbing her arm and scratching her.

The woman sought refuge inside and the two men left the area on foot along George Street when another resident confronted them.

The first man is described as being dark skinned, approximately 18-23 years old with a slim build and approximately 185cms tall. He was wearing long black pants, a black hoody, Nike running shoes and a baseball cap.

The second man is described as being shorter and was also wearing a black hoody.

Midland Detectives Have Charged A 65 Year Old Lesmurdie Man As A Result Of Their Investigation Into Child…

Midland Detectives have charged a 65 year old Lesmurdie man as a result of their investigation into child abuse allegations covering a 42 year period between 1972 and 2013.

It will be alleged the man indecently assaulted four people. At the start of the offences the victims were girls aged six, 15 and 18 and a seven year old boy.

The victims were known to the man, some through family relationships and one through his employment as a chef. The man was involved with at least eight restaurants during this period in the suburbs of Mandurah, Belmont, East Perth, Kalamunda and Northbridge.

He has been charged with:-
· Two counts of Unlawful and Indecent Dealing with a Child under 14 years;
· Two counts of Unlawful and Indecent Assault of a Woman or Girl;
· One count of Indecent Assault and
· One count of Indecent Dealing with a Child under 13 years.

Midland And Perth Detectives Have Arrested Two 18 Year Old Men In Relation To Two Armed Robberies In…

Midland and Perth detectives have arrested two 18 year old men in relation to two armed robberies in Subiaco last night.

It is alleged the first incident occurred about 8:30pm on Monday 28 December 2015 near Hay and Denis Street, when one of the two men armed with a knife threatened a 65 year old man and demanded he hand over his satchel. The man refused and a struggle occurred where the male victim was stabbed several times to the upper body and face. During the struggle the alleged co-offender was stabbed to the hand by the first offender.

Both men fled on foot empty handed. The victim walked to a nearby residence to obtain help and was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for treatment by St John Ambulance.

The second incident occurred about ten minutes later on Sheen Street and it is alleged the men approached a 27 year old woman and grabbed at her bag which dropped to the pavement. The woman bent down to pick the bag up when it is further alleged the woman was kicked to the floor.

A member of the public having seen the assault on the woman gave chase and stopped one of the men on Salvado Road and waited a short time for police to attend.

A short distance away the other man was located.

An 18 year old Koondoola man was refused bail and charged with one count each of Attempted Robbery, Acts Intended to Cause GBH, Aggravated Robbery. He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court this morning.

The other 18 year old man of Port Kennedy was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for treatment of an injured hand. He has been charged with one count each of Attempted Robbery, Acts Intended to Cause GBH and Aggravated Robbery. He is currently under police guard and expected to have a bedside hearing today.
