Crooks Could Be Soon Helping To Pedal Themselves to Lockup

As you may recall we recently reinstated the Bike Squad – 30 police officers that will patrol throughout the Perth Metro area on bikes.

In addition to this officers will now be trialling tandem bikes in the Perth CBD over the next 3 months.

It is believed the tandem bikes will be an effective, efficient and environmentally friendly way of transporting offenders in build-up suburban areas to the nearest lockup.

Offenders will be placed on the rear of the bike and handcuffed to the handle bars to foil any Houdini attempts.

Helmets will be provided along with hair nets and antibacterial spray to avoid any nasty head and hair issues.

Officers involved in the tandem bike squad will receive specialist training to ensure their own safety as well as their passenger’s.

Perth CBD is a very bike friendly location however we will access the option of electric motors for the hillier suburbs.

Keep your eye out for the new bikes and let’s hope we don’t see you pedalling your way to the lockup!

A Reminder That Bail Conditions Are Checked

A strong reminder that we check bail conditions and take them very seriously…
On 24 November 2015, a 24-year old woman was released to bail from Fremantle Magistrates Court. Bail conditions included regular drug testing while participating in a pre-sentence program as she awaited trial regarding a serious domestic violence incident.
In March 2016, the woman allegedly provided urine samples resulting in positive tests for cannabis, amphetamine and methylamphetamine.
Police attended the woman’s home in Hillman yesterday and arrested her for Breach of Bail. She will appear before the Fremantle Magistrates Court today.

Progressing News On Tuesday’s Hit & Run – Man Assisting With Inquiries

Can You Assist Police With Any Information In Relation To This Incident That Occurred In Mandurah?

Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident that occurred in Mandurah on Sunday 27 September 2015. Around 3pm, a 19 year old woman was walking along Ormsby Terrace in Silver Sands Mandurah when she was spoken to by a man driving a white car. He offered her a lift home, but instead drove her to another location where she was indecently assaulted. The woman managed to escape, and was able to return home where she reported the incident. The woman was wearing blue denim jeans, a black and white striped long sleeve shirt and a red hoodie. The man in the white car is described as being fair skinned with balding hair and around 30 years of age. Police are appealing for witnesses who may have either seen the woman walking along Ormsby Terrace in Silver Sands Mandurah, or observed a man in a white car (the car may have had black on the sides) at around about 3pm on Sunday 27 September 2015. Kununurra chiropractor accused of indecently assaulting patients – ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Kununurra chiropractor accused of indecently assaulting patients
By Erin Parke

MAP: Kununurra 6743
Police have charged a chiropractor in Western Australia’s Kimberley with indecently assaulting four patients.

Complaints surfaced last year of alleged improper behaviour by the 34-year-old chiropractor, who had been working in the town of Kununurra for about a decade.

After a lengthy investigation, detectives charged the man with four counts of indecent assault.

He is due before the Kununurra Magistrates Court later this month.

It is understood the chiropractor has relocated to the southern suburbs of Perth since the allegations surfaced.

As a result of the complaints, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency has restricted the man’s access to patients.

The agency attached a number of conditions to his registration.

Included is a requirement for an “adult chaperone” to be present during all consultations he has with male patients.

He is also required to submit a fortnightly log of any treatment given to male patients.
